Upside Down Sports Club is a volunteer-run charity that supports children and young people who are wheelchair users. Based in Cambridgeshire, the club provides opportunities for members to take part in sport, social activities and new experiences in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Our aim is simple – to create opportunities for young wheelchair users to enjoy being active, build confidence and make lasting friendships. All of our activities are adapted so that everyone can take part and feel included, regardless of ability.
The club brings together young people and families who share similar experiences, helping to build a supportive community where members can enjoy sport, fun and adventure together.
Upside Down Sports Club relies on the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of supporters and fundraisers to keep the club running and to continue providing opportunities for our members.
Through sport, friendship and shared experiences, we aim to help young wheelchair users develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.
Upside Down Sports Club welcomes new members who are wheelchair users up to the age of 18. Our sessions are designed to provide a fun, inclusive and supportive environment where young people can enjoy sport, social activities and new experiences alongside others who share similar challenges.
Club sessions usually take place at suitable accessible venues across Cambridgeshire, including facilities such as One Leisure in St Neots. Details of upcoming sessions and locations will be shared with members in advance.
To help cover venue hire and activity costs, there is an annaul memebership fee for sessions and activities have afee which is part subsidised by the club. Any costs will always be kept as affordable as possible, and details will be communicated ahead of each session.
For safeguarding and support reasons, all members must attend sessions with their parent, carer or responsible adult, who should remain present throughout the activity. This helps ensure that members are supported appropriately and that sessions run safely for everyone involved.
